If you are boarding your pet at a pet care center ask about vaccinations and treatments for kennel cough for dogs and respiratory infections for cats. If all pets have to be treated, there is much less chance of your pet contacting some type of infectious disease.

If the center includes a pet supply shop it may be possible to order in specialty items for your pets. These can include special types of bedding for senior pets, new types of toys and even new diets and food programs for pets with special needs.

A pet day care center or spa should offer a good staff to pet ratio. While the pet will be kenneled some of the time, they should also have lots of interaction from people at the center, after all that is the reason you don't want they staying alone at home. Ask the time the pet will be alone and the time they will be with a staff member.
